While that would certainly make life easier, the reality of testing is grounded in a much more strategic, disciplined science. To test is to evaluate quality, performance, and reliability before a product hits the market. As the International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB) defines it, testing is « the process of evaluating a system or component’s quality, » and it is a critical process that must be performed throughout the entire software development lifecycle.
